According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the meeting, views were exchanged on certain aspects of Uzbekistan – American cooperation.
It was noted that over the past two years, mutual understanding and trust have been reached in dialogue between Uzbekistan and the United States on human rights issues, which is an important part of bilateral agenda. This was facilitated primarily by large-scale reforms implemented in the country within the framework of implementation of the Development Strategy in 2017-2021.
John Richmond noted the positive dynamics in complete eradication of child labor and positive results of radical measures taken by the Government for preventing forced labor in Uzbekistan.
The parties confirmed mutual interest in continuing cooperation in this area.
