
The United States delegation was led by U.S. Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Alice Wells.
According to Uzbekistan MFA, the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation were discussed. The parties also exchanged views on some international and regional issues.
It was noted that since the previous round of consultations, bilateral relations have reached a new stage of development. The official visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the United States in May 2018 and its successful results opened a new page in multifaceted relations between the two countries.
The signing of documents within the framework of the visit and start of the implementation of bilateral agreements worth 4.8 billion USD, holding the American Business Week in Uzbekistan last fall, and other joint events confirmed the significant potential for development of trade-economic, investment and technological cooperation.
On the same day, meetings of Policy, Security, Economy and Trade, Human Dimension subgroups were held. Specific aspects of bilateral relations were considered at the meetings.
